Your team and your responsibilities

Team description

 

Toyota Motor Europe R&D Centre is responsible for:

  • Developing vehicles and making concept proposal for EU core models
  • Reflecting EU technology to Toyota Vehicles timely by utilizing location advantage and strong network with EU partners.

Within the Electronics Engineering Division, the Wire Harness design team is responsible for the design of the electrical circuit specifications (low and high voltage) and the physical routing of the vehicle wire harness for European vehicles from concept phase to serial production.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop wire harnesses & related parts (protectors, brackets,…) in order to achieve performance, quality and cost targets
  • Study layout & routing and co-operate with other departments in order to secure feasibility (engine & passenger compartment, both for hybrid and battery-electric powered vehicles)
  • Join the design of electric power distribution parts such as relays, fuse box, junction box etc
  • Creation of 3D CAD model, routing, installation and production drawings
  • Co-operate with suppliers and Toyota stakeholders to secure production feasibility of parts
  • Secure regulation compliance and collaborate with Homologation department
  • Support plant production and quality engineers to solve the concerns raised during production trials or mass production
  • Benchmark competitors’ products & propose ideas for product and cost improvement

Your Profile

 For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)

  • You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English (TME business language)
  • You have a master in Mechatronics or Electromechanics
  • You have good people (soft) skills and can comfortably discuss / negotiate with other stakeholders internally and externally
  • You have experience in development of Mechatronics parts (university project/internship/thesis)
  • You have good problem solving skills and analytical skills
  • You have learned the use of following tools:
  • CAD system such as Catia (Design and simulation)
  • Design FMEA
  • Modelisation-simulation tool such as Matlab is an asset
  • Programming language such as Python is an asset
  • You are passionate and have interest in industrial engineering and the automotive sector
  • You are able to travel for business on occasional basis
