Team/division description

 

Within R&D Electronics Engineering division, Telematics group oversees the development of future connected devices and services focusing on our customer convenience and safety in the European region. The Telematics team in R&D Electronics Engineering division is responsible for:

  • Design and evaluation of serial production ECU’s with local suppliers.
  • Developing SW applications and services for multimedia units and data communication modules.
  • Establishing tools & processes for inhouse evaluation and vehicle software development
  • Support close collaborations with other Toyota Affiliates & EU tech companies

 

Your responsibilities

    1. Production ECU development
    • Design, develop & test vehicle ECU’s for production release incl each development step from requirements making, prototyping & production implementation and validation (in software & on actual hardware)
    • Design, develop & maintain tools which will enable Hardware In the Loop evaluation.
    • Support quality activites

     

    1.  Connected service concept & production development
    • Design, develop & test vehicle software models/code for pilot activities & production release, incl each development step from service ideation, user surveys over prototyping & production implementation and validation (in software emulators & on actual hardware)

     

    1. Future ECU preparation
    • Study new data communication methods between vehicle & cloud
    • Support the making of requirements and specifications.
    • Benchmark & monitor latest technologies.

     

    1. Project management & communication
    • Develop and follow-up project schedule with stakeholders (suppliers & other Toyota affiliates)
    • Report project status in a clear manner to Toyota top management, including deviations to support fast corrective action decision
    • Maintain regular communication with project partners (suppliers, research/consulting companies, teams in Japan, and -more widely- with all Toyota technical teams involved or related to the system)

     

Your Profile

 For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)

  • You are fluent in English (TME business language), Japanese is an asset
  • You have a masters degree in Engineering - specialization: Computer Science or equivalent by experience
  • You have a strong interest in electronics and automotive systems incl. SDV. Prior experience in automotive/electronics industry is an asset (e.g. software or electronics design and validation)
  • You are strong in problem-solving, logical thinking, reporting and have good planning & organizational skills.
  • You have good knowledge of:
    • Software development process and methodology in automotive domain
      • Requirement engineering & software architecture design
      • Software implementation
        • Software programming (C++/Java/Python/…)
        • Usage of Linux OS
        • Software deployment on embedded devices w/OS or automotive ECU’s
      • Test specification & automation for MIL, SIL & HIL
      • Product evaluation & validation
  • You have a basic understanding of:
    • Requirement & architecture modelling (SysML/UML)
    • Networks & automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP)
  • Following knowledge/skills are considered as an asset:
    • ALM or requirement management tools (DOORS, Jama, Windchill RV&S,…)
    • Requirement quality & testing standards (IREB & ISTQB)
    • CI/CD tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira,…)
    • ISO26262
    • Automotive Grade Linux (AGL)
    • AUTOSAR
    • Cybersecurity principles & controls
  • You are available to travel for business
