Your team and your responsibilities

Team description

 

Toyota Motor Europe R&D Centre is responsible for:

  •  Developing vehicles and making concept proposal for EU core models
  •  Reflecting EU technology to Toyota Vehicles timely by utilizing location advantage and strong network with EU partners.

Electronics Engineering Design Division is responsible for the electromechanical design & installation of Body Electronics parts (Instrument clusters, switches,…) and Multimedia parts (Radio, speakers,…) for European vehicles from concept phase to serial production.

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Design and development of electronic parts in order to achieve performance, quality and cost targets (switches, antenna’s, audio system, combination meter/cluster, multimedia display,…)
  • Investigate style feasibility and co-operate with styling department and body design in order to secure technical feasibility and integration in the vehicle
  • Creation of 3D CAD models, installation and production drawings
  • Co-operate with production suppliers and Toyota stakeholders to secure production feasibility
    (both mechanical integration and electrical operation)
  • Secure regulation compliance and collaborate with Homologation department
  • Support plant production and quality engineers to solve the concerns raised during production trials or mass production & market quality issues
  • Benchmark competitor products & propose ideas for product power and cost improvement
  • Creation and maintenance of hardware, software parameters, mechanical and electrical part specifications

 

 

 

 

Your Profile

 For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)

 

  • You are fluent in English (TME business language)
  • You have a master in Mechatronics or Electromechanics
  • You have good people (soft) skills and can comfortably discuss / negotiate with other stakeholders internally and externally
  • You have experience in development of Mechatronics parts
    (as university project/internship/thesis)
  • You have learned the use of following tools:
    • CAD system such as Catia (Design and basic stress simulation)
    • Design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Experience with below tools is an additional benefit:
    • Model writing and- simulation (tools such as Matlab/Simulink)
    • Programming language such as Python
    • CAN Bus measurement tool such as CANoe
  • You are passionate and have interest in industrial engineering and the automotive sector
  • You are able to travel for business on occasional basis
