Team description

With more than 200 members of over 40 nationalities, Purchasing plays a key role in the success of TME. In Purchasing we manage the relation with suppliers of parts, raw materials and indirect goods & services across Europe. Toyota’s unique Purchasing approach is based on a strong belief in developing and maintaining long-term, stable relationships with suppliers. Through this collaborative mindset, we target to achieve our goal to contribute to the society and build ever better cars.

Your responsibilities

• You drive collaboration between Design, Quality, and Logistics teams at Toyota Motor Europe and suppliers during the development of next generation of vehicles in Europe.
• You coordinate planning and production preparation activities across a European supplier base.
• You actively contribute to and learn from Toyota’s unique production preparation methodology and teamwork approach, from product development to mass production.
• You support supplier improvement in the areas of safety, quality, delivery as one team with your suppliers. You strengthen suppliers’ productivity and capacity by utilizing the skills you will acquire on trainings on Toyota Production System.
• You work with suppliers to reduce environmental impacts, support carbon reduction initiatives, and strengthen human rights due diligence throughout the supply chain.

 For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships):

• You are fluent in English (TME business language) 
• You have a degree in Engineering - Mechanical/Production / Manufacturing
• You have interest and/or have done internship at Quality / Production / Industrial Eng. / Logistics departments preferably in the automotive or mass production environment.
• You have experience with Microsoft Office tools
• You have excellent communication skills
• You demonstrate a proactive hands-on approach and outgoing personality
• You have an analytical mindset
• You are willing to travel frequently (up to 60% of time at Suppliers)
